The Schoonhovense Plassen is located a few kilometres from us. This recreational facility has its own beach and pavilion and is well worth a visit. Besides this, you could also visit the Dwingeloo-, Emmen-, Assen- or Slagharen national parks. A course located in nearby (10km)Tiendeveen caters to the golf enthusiast, but if you don’t play golf you could still take a cycle tour through the area or visit the restaurant – they serve a superb lunch! If you prefer something more cultural, visit the ‘De 5000-Morgen’ museum in the main road of Hoogeveen.
